The elders and the anointed

how can it be that most of the anointed of the jws do not have any previliges in their local congos even those that have years of faithful service in the org?

isn't it strange that the non anointed elders have more functions than the anointed?

that obviously amounts to the gb suppressing the anointed, does it not?

I began partaking the last 4 years I was in the borg. Even though I was a fulltime pioneer and never been counseled..for anything substansial, I was told be 2 different elders, that they were sure I wasn't anointed. Everyone I know, who has ever claimed to be anointed was scoffed at and laughed at. (except for a woman about 65).

i am having a discussion with my jw mom on the watchtower take on matt 25:32. i know this has been discussed many times on here before, but i was wondering if someone had the watchtower quotes on this topic.

i was thinking the watchtower already had decided who the goats were.

Hey there:

In DC of 2004 and we had a brochere..called Keep on the Watch. In it was stated that the 'Hour of Judgement had Arrived'. I had to figure that, that meant that we had entered into the time of judgement where the sheeps and the goats were separated.

But alas, they recently changed their minds on that in 2005 WT.

lately i`ve been in conflict with jw-apologists on wikipedia in my country.

the most annoying thing is when the jws are trying to rewrite doctrine to make it sound more humane than it really is.

everyone on this board, everyone who ever was a jw or were raised as a jw,knows what the real doctrine is on this issue.

Do you own a Juicer?

reading the vigil thread for our friends made me think of this.....juicers are a good way to get antioxidents(cancer fighters) into your body..i own a breville 2speed,850w 13,000rpm motor..this sucker could juice chalk..lol!

!..anyone else here own a juicer,and have you noticed the health benifits from it?...outlaw

according to the bible, are individuals commissioned to preach.

Good question:

I think that the teaching and preaching of the bible...has validity and is important.. up to the end.

But I think, during the GT, there is another kind a message, to be preached. A more active type of message and more a message of peace.. as it will be a judgement message and Jesus will be present then. Note..

Is. 11:10 And it must occur in that day that there will be the root of Jesse that will be stand up as a signal for the people. To him even the nations will turn inquiringly, and his resting-place must become glorious.

As Micah 4:4 says : And it must occur in the final part of the days, the mountain of the Lord will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, .....and many nations will certainly go and say: "come....And he will certainly render judgement among many peoples...and they will ...beat their swords into plowshares..

I still think it will be a kingdom message..but in more practical terms..as a real thing to happen on the earth..

after spending years with the witnesses, and the knowledge we have now, is there a religion that matches our biblical knowledge and experience?.

i think that we are way beyond any religion that exists, and that's why we stay out of religion today..

Actually, I think this group of ex-JW's may just be the closest to God of anyone else.. Maybe not everyone.. but the group as a whole are very much more enlightened than any religion I know.

And the reason I think this..is we are HONEST>>

i have been reading the bible with a new perspective for some time, i guess i identify with drew s from a lot of his comments sound like what i think.

i have been thinking about what i read without the wt influence and i would like to get ya'll's input on this scripture.. .

revelation 20 1-6. to me it seems to indicate that satan will be bound "first" then the ressurection of those to rule with christ for a thousand years.. also.

I think the Satan part and the next part at vs. 4, are like 2 separate visions.

So...don't think so.

It seems to indicate that those that rule will be ones actually killed for their beliefs.

Don't think so...just ones who "pick up their cross". Another words those who are WILLING to die..for the faith..

for Christians: How did you decide on the Bible?

for those of you who are christian and accept the bible as nothing less then the word of god, how did you come to that conclusion?

how much research did you do into the bible to get to the point where you sat back and said, this is it?

or was it zero research and more a leap of faith?.

Hey there: It was reading the sermon of the mount.. esp. the part on loving your enemies and doing good to those that hurt you. To me, there is something superhuman about that.

i recall a girl i had never met before who was crying (after we talked for a while) for being shunned by another local congo, and i thought that it was too cruel to shun people and something was not right with the jws.

Yes, there was a retired man, who was a Catholic priest. He got asked to leave the priesthood because he was very much, an activist. He was the leader or co-leader of many groups. Anti-war, anti-discrimination against the Arab population, against- privitizing social security,etc. He was always so kind to me..as I called on them alot. He, one day, looked at me in the eyes....and said, "how do you justifiy not doing anything to help your fellow man, with all the problems that are in the world? "

I just sat there with my mouth open.. no answer... But he's had no idea what an impact that had on me..

The GB, jehovah and correcting grevious errors

what do you think about the doctrine of the gb which maintains that it is no one's business to meddle in the way they run god's org (in fact their org) because god himself will put things right in his due time?.

isn't that a disgusting excuse to let them carry on abusing the r&f with false knowledge?

just think of it there are many errors many r&f are pointing them out and god is sitting there mysteriously ignoring the errors and as if by a whim he will at some time later decide to direct the gb to correct these errors.

What is R & F? When you said this:

Why don't they follow the advice of the R&F and correct things there and then? Why is God taking so much time to set things right?

I was thinking of a scripture..refering to the 'man of lawlessness' ... which I'm not sure if the WT is a part of or not.. but this part of the scriptures fit..

II Thes. 2:9 'But the lawless one's presence is according to the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs......as a retribution because they did not accept the love of the truth .....So that is why God lets an operation of error go to them, that they may get to believing the lie, in order that they all may be judged because they did not believe the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness.'

Greendawn, I know that God lead me out of the WT. And maybe he's using this time to try to lead as many out as possible.. That's my guess .. What do you think??
